Print out
Start by finding a template off our website you want to make and print it out. Cut out the size of the template that fits you wood and tape the template to your wood.

Hammer Time
Hammer through the template (on the dots/pattern), you can use pliers to get into tricky cracks. Don't feel pressured to get a nail/pin at every dot but make sure you get the basic outline pattern you're making so that when it comes to the 'stringing' stage you will be able to make nice clean curved lines. After all the pins are in you can rip off the paper (doing this is very satisfying), if when you rip out your paper the nails/pins come out you need to hammer them in further.
Stringing
When you string up your artwork make sure you string around the outside of your pattern, and not only the outside but the outside of the nails/pins on the outside. On the photo you'll see a section where I did not go properly around the outside. Apart from that make sure you're using the colours you want to be using and have fun. Don't be stressed about making it random, just make it random, there is a stage when there is too much. You should still be able to see the colour of the background/wood after you're done but do not do too little that you don't see the colour you're using or the pattern you're trying to make.
